And only genuine tough nuts get through the gruelling selection process at the Ginghis Security Academy in Beijing, where trainers batter students with beer bottles in an initiation ceremony.
Later the students – who offer VIP protection to China’s growing number of billionaires and multi-millionaires – are flown to Israel to learn anti-terrorist techniques from the country’s elite special forces.
“It is very demanding but they’re training us to cope with whatever is out there p and we’ll all face worse than this in the field if we qualify,” said one student.
